Basic Action Form Of Hydraulic Cylinder

Standard double-acting: power travel is in two directions and is used in most applications:
Single-acting cylinder: when thrust is required in only one direction, a single-acting cylinder can be used;
Double-rod cylinder: when equal displacement is required on both sides of the piston, or when a load is connected to each end when it is mechanically advantageous, the additional end can be used to install cams for operating travel switches, etc
Spring return single-acting cylinder: usually limited to a small short-stroke cylinder for holding and clamping. The length required to accommodate the return spring makes them very annoying when long travel is required;
Plunger type single-acting cylinder: there is only one fluid chamber. This type of cylinder is usually installed vertically, and the load reset makes the cylinder shrink. They are also called "displacement cylinders", and are practical for long stroke;
Multi-stage telescopic cylinder: it can be equipped with 4 sets of sleeves at most, and the folding length is shorter than that of the standard cylinder. It has single or double action, and they are more expensive than the standard cylinder. They are usually used in situations where the installation space is small but the stroke is large,
Series cylinder: a series cylinder is composed of two coaxial cylinders. The pistons of the two cylinders are connected by a common piston rod. The rod seals are set in front of the two cylinders so that each cylinder can double act. When the installation width or height is limited, the series cylinder can increase the output;
Duplex cylinder: a duplex cylinder is composed of two coaxial cylinders. The two pistons are not connected. A rod seal is set between the two cylinders so that each cylinder can double act. The two cylinders can be installed with piston rod to piston (as shown in the figure) or back to back. It is usually used to provide three-position operation.
