Laser Cutting

Use a high power density laser beam to irradiate the material to be cut, so that the material is quickly heated to the vaporization temperature, and evaporate to form a hole. With the beam moving on the material, the hole continuously forms a slit with a narrow width (such as about 0.1mm) to complete the cutting of the material.
Compared with other thermal cutting methods, laser cutting is generally characterized by fast cutting speed and high quality. It can be summarized as follows.
(1) Good cutting quality
Because the laser spot is small, the energy density is high, and the cutting speed is fast, the laser cutting can obtain better cutting quality.
① The laser cutting cut is narrow, the two sides of the cut are parallel and perpendicular to the surface, and the dimensional accuracy of the cut part can reach ± 0.05mm.
② The cutting surface is smooth and beautiful, and the surface roughness is only tens of microns. Even laser cutting can be used as the last process, without mechanical processing, and parts can be used directly.
③ After the material is cut by laser, the width of the heat affected zone is very small, the performance of the material near the slit is almost unaffected, and the workpiece deformation is small, the cutting accuracy is high, the geometric shape of the slit is good, and the cross-section shape of the slit presents a relatively regular rectangle. The comparison of laser cutting, oxyacetylene cutting and plasma cutting methods is shown in Table 1. The cutting material is 6.2mm thick low-carbon steel plate.
⑵ High cutting efficiency Due to the transmission characteristics of the laser, the laser cutting machine is generally equipped with multiple CNC worktables, and the whole cutting process can be fully CNC. During operation, it is only necessary to change the NC program to cut parts of different shapes, which can be used for both two-dimensional cutting and three-dimensional cutting.
(3) Fast cutting speed
Use a laser with a power of 1200W to cut 2mm thick low carbon steel plate, and the cutting speed can reach 600cm/min; The cutting speed of 5mm thick polypropylene resin board can reach 1200cm/min. The material does not need to be clamped and fixed during laser cutting, which not only saves the fixture, but also saves the auxiliary time of loading and unloading.
(4) Non-contact cutting
During laser cutting, there is no contact between the cutting torch and the workpiece, and there is no tool wear. To process parts of different shapes, it is not necessary to change the "tool", but only to change the output parameters of the laser. The laser cutting process has low noise, small vibration and no pollution.
